MDM Server first startup KNOWN ISSUE:

In 5.4 the configuration files: mdm.conf and datasources.xml, are moving from jboss-4.2.2.GA/bin to jboss-4.2.2.GA/server/default/conf. However: The IzPack (jar) installer already puts the files in conf… but with the wrong names. After installation, you must rename them manually: mdm-xx.conf.prod -> rename to mdm.conf, datasources-xx.xml -> rename to datasources.xml.
This is of course a temporary situation. You will have to do this only once before your first startup

We are proud to announce a transition to a more permissive license, reinforcing Open Source leadership through new contributions. Talend has transitioned to the Apache License for its Talend Open Studio product family.

The first step of the license transition will see a change from the GPL license to the LGPL license for version 5.4 of Talend Open Studio for Data Integration, Talend Open Studio for Data Quality and Talend Open Studio for ESB. A further change to the Apache License will occur in 2014. Talend Open Studio for Big Data has already been provided under the Apache License since its launch.

Capital raised from Bpifrance, Iris Capital and existing investors will fuel accelerated investments and development in big data

Talend, the global big data integration software leader, today announced the completion of a $40 million funding from Bpifrance and Iris Capital with participation from existing investors Silver Lake Sumeru, Balderton Capital and Idinvest Partners. Talend will use the investment to accelerate innovation, augment its portfolio and support its go-to-market efforts in the big data space and other leading edge domains for enterprise IT.

The market for big data and Hadoop-related technologies is experiencing a tipping point. According to research firm IDC, spending on big data technologies and services will grow by 30 percent in 2014, surpassing $14 billion. However, as demand for big data skills continues to outstrip supply, organizations looking at innovative use cases to increase revenue, maximize retention or optimize operations are still facing significant adoption and deployment challenges.
